Maintaining a wood kitchen cabinet Rancho Santa Margarita is more accessible than other cabinets made of a different material. Additionally, cleaning wood cabinets require little attention to detail. Whether painted or finished, wood cabinets must be cleaned to remove dirt, grime, and food residue from their surfaces.

Even though cleaning wood cabinets is a tedious task, it is not required to use harsh or toxic chemicals when cleaning cabinets. While cabinet refacing and kitchen remodeling Orange are ongoing, homeowners can follow different tips to help maintain kitchen cabinets.

One of the tips for cleaning wood kitchen cabinets is to use the proper cleaning solution that must be appropriately diluted. Usually, the label provides the water-to-cleaner ratio that homeowners can follow.

A practical alternative to a cleaning solution is vinegar. It is an affordable substitute to consider when no cleaning solution is available. To use vinegar as a cleaning solution alternative:

  1. Mix one part of distilled white vinegar with two parts of warm water in a spray bottle.
  2. Mist the cleaning solution on the cabinets and let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. After this, gently wipe off the solution with a soft-bristled brush.

For stuck food grease in kitchen cabinets, homeowners can use baking soda to scrub it away. The baking soda can be a mild abrasive that will not scratch the cabinet surface. It will also leave behind a non-toxic layer of residue that can be easily washed off and cleaned with a basic cleaning solution.

Dishwashing soap can also be used to remove grease and dirt buildup. A 5% solution in a bucket with water is ideal as it can cut through lingering grease. It is also essential to clean the cabinet’s trim, handles, and door frames.
